I love making Banana Bread… So Easy, It’s Bananas!
In my kitchen this recipe is a real lifesaver as it brings together the best of all its parts. I start with 3 ripe bananas (about 1 1/2 cups when mashed) which not only sweeten the mix naturally but adds a moist texture.
Then I mix in 1/2 cup unsalted melted butter, 3/4 cup granulated sugar and 2 large eggs, beaten lightly. I stir in 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour and finish it off with 1/2 cup chopped walnuts for that extra crunch and nutrition.
This Banana Nut Bread has the best of both worlds with a rich taste and some nutritional benefits like potassium and protein. Its been influenced by some of the most loved recipes out there such as Janet’s Rich Banana Bread Recipe and Company’s Coming Banana Bread.

Why I Like this Recipe
I like this recipe because its super easy to put together, and I usually already have all the ingredients on hand. I really love how the ripe bananas add natural sweetness and keep the bread nice and moist. I also dig the crunch from the walnuts which gives it a cool texture contrast to the soft inside. It makes me feel like a total boss when i mix everything up and see it all come together in the oven.
Ingredients

- Bananas: They provide natural sugars, fiber and moisture that really sweetens and keeps the bread moist.
- Butter: Adds a rich, creamy flavor; though its fat content can make the bread extra tender.
- Sugar: Provides the sweetness so essential to the taste while also helping the bread brown nicely.
- Eggs: Bring protein and help to hold all the ingredients together for a stable loaf.
- Flour: The main structure provider, packed with carbohydrates that turn into energy once you eat it.
- Walnuts: Offer a crunchy texture with healthy fats and a bit of earthiness and subtle bitterness.

FAQ
Banana Bread… So Easy, It’s Bananas! Recipe Substitutions and Variations
- Unsalted butter: Instead of butter, you could use the same amount of coconut oil for a lighter, fruitier flavour
- Granulated sugar: If u want a healthier twist, try brown sugar or a bit of honey (just remember to use a little less cause it’s sweeter)
- Eggs: For a vegan version, mix 1 tablespoon of flaxseed meal with 3 tablespoons water for each egg and let it sit for 5 minutes
- Walnuts: If you dont like walnuts or want a different nutty taste, pecans are a good alternative or just skip the nuts entirely
Pro Tips
1. Make sure your bananas are super ripe – like really brown and spotty – cuz that’s when they’re the sweetest and easiest to mash.
2. Let the melted butter cool down a bit before mixing it with eggs and bananas so you don’t end up cooking your eggs by accident.
3. When adding the flour, stir it in gently and try not to over mix the batter, or the bread could turn out to be too tough.
4. Keep an eye on the bread near the end of baking time and check it with a toothpick, since ovens vary a lot and you don’t wanna overbake it.
